Archiware Releases P5 Version 7.1 with the P5 Data Mover
80331(firmenpresse) - Archiware GmbH, expert in data management software, releases version 7.1 of its P5 Data Management platform. New features include:
• P5 Data Mover, an extension of the P5 Archive module
• MHL checksum manifest of LTFS archived data
• UNC path support
• Multi-factor authentication
• Improved database design
• Browser-GUI improvements for large or complex installations
A highlight of the new version is the P5 Data Mover, which offers policy-based moving and copying of archived data between disk, tape and cloud storage. This new tiered storage concept allows data to be placed on different storage media according to its value, reuse and costs incurred. Additionally, data can easily be migrated or copied between storage tiers allowing for flexible storage strategies.
The browser-GUI improvements in P5 version 7.1 provide new query functions that are particularly effective for very large P5 installations containing many objects. Moreover, the optimized database design reduces complexity and ensures greater security and scalability.
Additional features in the new version include UNC path support, multi-factor authentication, and MHL checksum manifest of LTFS archived data. These functionalities enable easy access to network source and target storage, grant an added layer of security, and ensure the saving and recovery of source data without any alterations.
