Certification for Higher Power Densities


(PresseBox) - KENTEK’s passive laser safety materials are now also certified according to the European standard EN 60825-4. According to KENTEK’s sales partner – LASER COMPONENTS – this opens up new application possibilities. For example, it is officially recognized that the FLEX-GUARD SLC-250WB laser safety curtain can be used for medium power densities up to 4.25 MW/m2. The EN 12254 certificate only covered lasers up to 2.5 MW/m2. A particularly notable change can be seen for high power classes. Effective protection up to 500 MW/m2 has been confirmed for the EVER-GUARD SLC-EVG safety curtain – a significant increase compared to the 12 MW/m2 according to EN 12254.

“The EN 60825-4 certificate confirms what KENTEK laser safety materials can actually do,” says Alexandra Bahr, laser safety expert at LASER COMPONENTS. “All safety curtains are available in various designs and customized sizes.”
