Oceanic Iron Ore Corp.: Hon. Lawrence Cannon P.C. Appointed Director
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/20/11 -- Oceanic Iron Ore Corp. (TSX VENTURE: FEO)(OTCQX: FEOVF) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of the Hon. Lawrence Cannon P.C. as a Director of the Company.
Mr. Cannon was born in Quebec and has a long history of public service at the municipal and provincial levels in Quebec as well as at the federal level.
He was first elected to the House of Commons in 2006 and re-elected in 2008. In February of 2006, he was sworn in as Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, a portfolio which included responsibility for Transport Canada, Infrastructure Canada, the Canadian Transportation Agency, the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada, and 16 Crown corporations. In October 2008, Mr. Cannon was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, a post he held until 2011.
Mr. Cannon was also a member of Quebec's National Assembly from 1985 to 1994 and held the posts of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Minister of Communications. Between 1994 and 2001, Mr. Cannon worked in the private sector as a consultant. Between 2001 and 2005, Mr. Cannon was involved in Municipal politics as councillor for the city of Gatineau. Mr. Cannon is a graduate of the University of Montreal and he holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Laval University.

The Company announces the granting of 700,000 stock options for ten years to Mr. Cannon to be priced shortly, subject to regulatory approval.
