The Best Ways to Find Cheap Sneakers
Cheap sneakers
(firmenpresse) - The cost of collecting sneakers got too high, so I stopped collecting them. However, my recent diagnosis of Raynaud's Syndrome has given me a good excuse to start collecting more, now that I must wear layers of socks to keep my feet warm. When it's cold outside, high heels aren't cutting it, so I usually wear sneakers whenever possible.
It is a favorite pastime of Jun's family and mine to hunt for bargains, which is why I was delighted to receive a pair of brand new Adidas Falcons this past Christmas, thanks to Jun's brother. Adidas had the shoes on sale for $50 in December, so he got me the perfect pair in my size for just $50!
The main point of this post is that I always buy Cheap sneakers on sale, even Jordans. Sneaker snobs might think I'm buying fake shoes, but I assure you that I'm getting real sneakers.
Several years ago, I stood in line with my friends for the newest Jordans, the next Yeezys. I have staked out at my computer to purchase Yeezys (when they were harder to get). My experience with collecting shoes taught me that it is, ultimately, an expensive hobby that most people cannot afford.
Just like collecting shoes, finding deals requires patience and some time. Here are some of my most tried and true tips for purchasing shoes.
1: Women are likely to be able to shop in the youth section
It's pretty common for women to wear a size 7 in women's sneakers, and in youth size, that's a 5.5. So if you're in the neighborhood, chances are you'll be able to shop there. It is much cheaper to buy youth-size shoes than to buy adult-size shoes, and it is still cheaper to buy women's shoes for the same price. Jordans usually cost about $169 in Men's, but I can get them for $129, saving me $40. Often, if you wait a few months, they'll drop even lower in price! Being patient usually allows me to get them for around $90.
2: Try the shoes in-store, but shop online
Almost all of us know that the most popular shoes from big brands like Adidas and Nike rarely go on sale in store. It is because of this that I make most of my purchases online. In fact, no shoe is good if it doesn't fit. Visit a local retailer in your shoe style and try it on regardless of the color they have on hand. Once you know your true shoe size, you can purchase it online.
3: Always look for coupon codes
There are always promotions going on at online retailers. If you've never shopped on a particular website before, you might even find that they have a coupon just for creating an account or subscribing to their newsletter. Look for coupon codes online, and use them when you checkout.
You must also have the Rakuten CashBack Browser Extension if you don't already have it. With this button, you can collect cashback from thousands of popular retailers online before you checkout. Your cashback check will be deposited into your bank account after your balance adds up!
4: Try online outlet streetwear retailers
I have snagged some nice sneakers from websites like Karmaloop and Caliroots. These outlets specialize in streetwear clothing and footwear at outlet prices.
5: You're more likely to save money when you're not picky about colors
You may find that some colorways are more coveted than others, which means that they are more likely to go on sale. If you don't care about color but just want the style, then you might find that there are more sale options.
6: Check out Ross for sneaker deals
Whenever he visits Ross, my boyfriend's brother always manages to find something fantastic. The most recent pair he found were Adidas Samba snow boots normally priced at $250, for $20! He also just purchased my boyfriend a pair of Nike Air Command Forces for $65, usually $200!
7: Let the season run its course
People always flock to buy the latest colorways as soon as they are released. I used to do this out of excitement, but the more I continued that habit, the more money I wasted. Owning the latest sneakers is always exciting, but it isn’t worth the savings to get them when they come out. After a few months, new colorways are released, and retailers sell off the older models. There is a good chance that a retailer will have that color in your size unless it is a limited edition.
8: eBay sells the classics if you don't mind pre-owned
In 2006, Jordan released the Retro 4s in the Military Blue colorway, and after they sold out, they never graced store shelves again. They went for around $400 on eBay last year, and I almost gave up on finding them. Nevertheless, I found a pair of gently used ones on eBay for $130 after digging through more listings. The price would have been the same in Youth sizing, but since this was a rare colorway, I still saved a lot of money compared to others.
