MeVis AG joins the SPECTARIS e.V. industry association
Bremen, September 28, 2011 - Today, MeVis Medical Solutions AG, a leading
software provider for the medical imaging market, announced that it has
joined the SPECTARIS e.V. industry association.
German medical technology is synonymous worldwide for top performance. The
industry, which is characterised by medium-sized companies, has a high
level of innovation - every third product is less than three-years-old. Its
system and process solutions as well as its innovative services are trend
setters. In Germany, some 1,150 medical technology companies with almost
90,000 employees generate sales of EUR 20 billion, two-thirds or so of this
amount is generated abroad. Approximately 170 of these companies are
members of the SPECTARIS medical technology association. They all have a
high level of innovation, a strong export orientation as well as a
medium-sized corporate structure.
MeVis Medical Solutions AG is an established company for breast cancer
imaging diagnostics on the North American and Western European markets
thanks to its long and close ties to Hologic, Inc. and Siemens Healthcare.
Membership of this association offers invaluable help such as systematic
export promotion, regular expert working groups and health policy lobbying
for further corporate development. MeVis AG was represented in the 'Das
Einsparpotential innovativer Medizintechnik im Gesundheitswesen 2010' (The
2010 savings potential of innovative medical technology in health care)
yearbook with its software for a system developed by Invivo Corp. to
improve interventional prostate diagnostics by means of magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI-guided prostrate biopsies).
The association's core competencies in addition to industry marketing and
central association communications in particular include macro- and
microeconomics as well as market research, regulatory affairs and foreign
trade and export promotion.
