SynQor Introduces New Product Line for Transportation Market
RailQor DC-DC Converters in Quarter-Brick Packages; Full Power Operation Without Heatsink at 85°C and No Airflow
(firmenpresse) - BOXBOROUGH, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/27/11 -- announces a new line of products aimed specifically at the demanding thermal environments of transportation. The line of dc-dc converters is designed to provide isolated dc power for such electronics as LED displays, audio amplifiers, safety monitors, lighting, and communications systems under the European Standard EN 50155. These fixed-switching frequency converters use SynQor's synchronous rectifier based technology to achieve extremely high efficiency. Care has been taken to reduce power dissipation at very light loads, resulting in efficiencies exceeding 85% at as little as 10W output and 93% at full load. Minimal power dissipation allows for the RailQor series of quarter-bricks to deliver up to 50W with no derating in environments with no airflow, no heatsink, and ambient temperatures up to 85°C. Full operating temperature range is from -40°C to 110°C baseplate temperature with airflow, or up to 125°C in natural convection environments. Nominal input voltages include 24V, 72V, and 110V with output voltages include 24V (9V to 36V), 68V (12V to 160V), (42V to 110V), and (66V to 160V) with output voltage offerings of 5V, 12V, and 24V. Each module is completely encased to provide protection from harsh environments, and is available with an optional flanged style baseplate.
Features include remote on/off control, +10% to -20% output voltage trim range, remote output voltage sense, input under-voltage lockout, output over-voltage protection, active back bias limiting, thermal shutdown, output current limit, and short circuit protection. The RailQor quarter-brick series is designed for 3000Vdc and 100MO input-to-output isolation, is 6/6 RoHS compliant, and is rated with MTBF values in excess of 1M hours at 70°C (MIL-217).
