Since 1988 Ekornes has soldStressless® products in Australia through an importer, and agreementwith the importer has been reached regarding the transition phase. In2008 Ekornes generated sales in Australia worth some NOK 16 million.By establishing a separate subsidiary the company would gain bettercontrol of marketing and distribution in what Ekornes described as aninteresting market.
