Saving fuel, reducing CO2 emissions, switching from heavy fuel oil to LNG propulsion, ongoing cost pressure, etc.: shipping, shipbuilding, marine technology and the offshore industry are facing major challenges. AERZEN solutions for a wide range of applications
Whether process air or process gas, whether on the ship or on the seabed, whether in inland navigation, in the harbour area or in the open sea, whether passenger, cargo, tanker or research vessel: AERZEN solutions are ever-present in the maritime industry. The field of application is almost endless and ranges from Air Lubrication Systems (ALS) to ship wastewater treatment plants, the utilisation of boil-off gases (BOG), anti-heeling systems for ship stabilisation and air curtain systems for offshore construction sites to noise reduction for transverse thrusters and ship propellers, compressor charging, CO2 compression and suction or pressure conveying for loading and unloading.
Tailor-made packages with maximum functionality and reliability
AERZEN solutions need minimal maintenance and are characterised by maximum functionality, compactness and durability. The machines defy the difficult conditions at sea and perform their work safely and reliably even with high waves and under extreme temperatures. They provide 100% oil and absorption material-free process air. They fit into any machine room thanks to their small footprint and are designed to run efficiently, smoothly and maintenance-free. The wide range of options and auxiliary parts enables targeted customisation to meet individual customer process requirements. AERZEN packages are certified by DNV GL and Lloyd's Register and can also be used for safety-related tasks on board. A dense net of service centres, decentralised parts warehouses and over 50 subsidiaries guarantees worldwide services with short reaction times.
Utilisation of boil-off gas (BOG)
AERZEN realises application and cost-optimised compressor concepts for the handling and processing of boil-off gas. If the BOG is used as fuel for the ship's engine, oil-injected VMX packages are used. The robust machines are designed for reliable continuous operation and need particularly few maintenance thanks to reduced wear parts. Oil-free operation is required when returning the reliquefied gas to the LNG tank. First choice are therefore multi-stage, oil-free screw compressors. The customised solutions optimally fulfil the high safety requirements while offering maximum reliability, process safety and energy efficiency.
Oil-injected VMX screw compressors
The oil-injected VMX compressors are not only convincing when it comes to utilising boil-off gas (BOG). They are also the first choice for the VOC recovery, fuel gas/flare gas compression and nitrogen/inert gas compression. The low-maintenance packages provide a volume flow of up to 3,200 m3/h at a maximum differential pressure of 13 bar and score with high operational reliability, optimum efficiency, non-contact rotors as well as low-vibration and low-noise operation. This is reflected in low operating-, maintenance- and life-cycle-costs.
