Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, October 3, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased 1,449,500
Ahold common shares in the period from September 26, 2011 up to and including
September 30, 2011. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 8.3561
per share for a total consideration of ? 12.11 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced on March
3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 51,631,541
common shares for a total consideration of ? 458.89 million.
