The X PRIZE Foundation, the leading nonprofit organization solving the world's Grand Challenges by creating and managing large-scale, global incentivized competitions, will announce Shell as the exclusive presenting sponsor of the X PRIZE Exploration Prize Group.
X PRIZE Foundation and Shell will announce their three-year, multi-million dollar partnership at an engaging roundtable event October 6 at the historic Explorers Club in New York City where world renowned explorers will share their remarkable achievements and future scenarios for exploration of space, Earth and the oceans that could lead to breakthrough innovations.
X PRIZE Foundation and Shell will also launch "Why do YOU Explore?" -- a viral video competition designed to inspire the next generation of explorers. The competition encourages contestants to create a video using their own material and other multi-media assets, such as interviews with notable explorers and footage of groundbreaking activity across the frontiers of space, Earth and the oceans.
