The world's population is currently growing by around 100 million people per year. Around 8.3 billion people currently live on Earth. In 2025, the potash market will be worth approximately US$66 billion. According to estimates, it is expected to grow to around US$108 billion by 2035. This would represent growth of approximately five percent per year. The war in Ukraine led to the loss of potash producers from Russia and Belarus. Brazil is a significant consumer of potash, sourcing 46 percent of its potash requirements from Russia and Belarus in 2021.

The use of fertilizers is essential to improve crop yields and maintain stable food security. Potassium is necessary for plant growth and development. Demand for potash fertilizers is particularly high in the Asia-Pacific region. The agricultural sector there is undergoing change, leading to rising potash consumption. Potash demand is around 42 percent, with annual growth of more than seven percent expected. The reason for this is the high and rising demand for agricultural products in India and China. Farmers are forced to increase soil fertility by applying appropriate amounts of fertilizer. North America is also an important market for potash sales.

There is an excellent potash project in Gabon, Africa, for example.

Millennial Potash - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/millennial-potash-corp/ - is working on its Banio project there. Gabon is mining-friendly, and the project has a large-volume potash resource and good infrastructure.
