Copper was the first metal that humans smelted and was a symbol of wealth in ancient times. Today, it is an integral part of modern technologies.

Electronic cables and devices require copper because it is an excellent conductor of heat and electricity. It even possesses antibacterial properties. And it is an essential trace element for the human body. Not only power grids and artificial intelligence, but also the defense sector relies on this reddish metal. Without copper, there would be no power grid, no reliable water supply, and no computers or smartphones.

Modern defense systems also rely on the metal for AI-supported technologies and satellite communications, for example. The demand for copper is therefore rising steadily. Copper is valuable. While a ton of copper cost just under 7,500 euros in 2021, the price is much higher today. As a result, copper thefts are on the rise. Criminals are increasingly targeting fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, as well as construction sites and railway facilities.

Industry giant BHP has increasingly focused on copper through investments and acquisitions. This shift toward copper as a metal of the future has now resulted in more than half of the company’s profits in the first half of the fiscal year coming from the copper sector for the first time. There are abundant copper reserves, so copper will not run out; however, it is reasonable to assume that as demand rises, so will the price. The fact that the importance of copper is gradually being recognized more strongly is also evident in that companies are now calculating new and existing projects using higher long-term copper assumptions. Mining companies that own copper are therefore in the spotlight.

Arizona Sonoran Copper Company - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/arizona-sonoran-copper-company-inc/ - owns the Cactus Copper Project in Arizona. It has a very strong economic valuation. Arizona Sonoran Copper is set to be acquired by Hudbay Minerals. Arizona shareholders will receive 0.242 common shares of Hudbay Minerals for each share held. Shareholders who wish to remain invested in this highly promising project—and especially in the promising copper sector—should consider accepting this offer or switching to other promising copper companies.

Mogotes Metals - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/mogotes-metals-inc/ - is in the exploration and development stage and holds copper and gold projects in the promising Vicuña District in Argentina and Chile. The Filo Sur copper project (Argentina) appears particularly promising, with four drilling rigs currently in operation. A private placement has injected new capital into the company.
