STW at Sensor+Test 2026: A comprehensive range of sensors for demanding automation applications

ID: 736792

(PresseBox) - STW, based in Kaufbeuren, will be showcasing its extensive expertise in the field of sensor technology at the Sensor+Test measurement and sensor technology trade fair in Nuremberg. From 9 to 11 June, the specialists in heavy-duty automation and industrial automation will be exhibiting their sensor portfolio – ranging from high-precision sensors and thin-film measuring cells to functional safety – at Stand 311 in Hall 1 in Nuremberg.

Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) has decades of experience in the development of functionally safe applications and in the manufacture of sensors using thin-film technology at its site in Kaufbeuren.

STW will be showcasing this comprehensive expertise at Sensor+Test: the company will demonstrate in a practical manner how demanding applications, as well as machinery and plant manufacturers, benefit from its innovative strength and precision products from the Allgäu region. The spectrum ranges from the development and manufacture of customised sensor solutions to customer-oriented integration into complex systems – always with a particular focus on reliability, safety and efficiency under extreme operating conditions. STW’s expertise enables customers to meet the latest requirements for digitalisation, automation and networking, thereby making their machines fit for the future – supported by comprehensive service and collaborative partnership from concept to series production.

Robust pressure sensors thanks to thin-film measuring cells

At Sensor+Test, STW is presenting a wide range of pressure sensors featuring measuring cells manufactured using thin-film technology. Thin-film measuring cells on stainless steel are characterised by high long-term stability, excellent temperature resistance and outstanding media compatibility, making them ideal for aggressive or fluctuating media and harsh environmental conditions.

With the SMX.pt-ma1, STW has developed a new pressure sensor for demanding industrial applications and use in hydraulic systems. The sensor features a newly developed measuring cell and electronics design and can be cost-effectively adapted to individual customer requirements using a modular approach. This includes, for example, flexible mechanical and electrical interfaces.

The CE-compliant SMX.pt-ma1 covers a measuring range of 100 to 800 bar, with an overload pressure of 1600 bar and a burst pressure of 3200 bar. Like all STW components, this sensor is designed for harsh industrial environments: the operating temperature range is ?40 to +125 °C. The shock resistance is 100 g, and vibrations of up to 20 g can be withstood continuously. This provides plant and system manufacturers with a high-performance, robust and versatile pressure sensor that reliably covers the majority of demanding industrial applications.

For safety applications

Applications with specific functional safety requirements can also be met by STW’s comprehensive range of safety sensors. The sensor specialists offer pressure sensors, pressure switches and tilt sensors (with IMU functionality) certified to SIL 2 / PL d in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1:2025. This enables OEMs to implement safety-critical applications such as braking and steering systems, crane levelling or mast stabilisation in compliance with standards using STW sensor technology.

The sensor portfolio is complemented by strain and temperature sensors, pressure transducers and a wide range of customised sensor solutions, which are also suitable for special applications such as hydrogen. Visitors to Sensor+Test can therefore experience the full range of measurement technology for highly demanding applications at STW – for both mobile and stationary applications.
