The Michael Group, a Female Owned and Operated Chicago Video Production Company, Acquires Lauren Dewhirst, a Former VP of Edelman
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/06/11 -- In an expansion bid, The Michael Group has recently acquired a PR specialist, Lauren Dewhirst, who previously served as the VP/Deputy Director at Edelman, a global public relations firm. Lauren joins The Michael Group as a Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications, thus further increasing the company's PR and corporate video potential. Dewhirst's experience includes 15 years of working with some of the largest consumer companies in the world.
This acquisition is the latest step in an aggressive growth strategy implemented by Michael Weber, who started the company back in 2007. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Weber spent several years working as a producer for ABC News. After her tenure at ABC News, Michael developed content for many cable networks, including A&E, National Geographic Channel, Animal Planet, History Channel and The Weather Channel, to name just a few. Hers is now one of the most respected companies.
Prior to inviting Lauren to join its team, The Michael Group had just gone through a name change from Michael Dean Productions. This event was the most prominent symbol of the metamorphosis of a small production-shop, grown out of a freelance practice, into an internationally recognized full service video production company. Moreover, the new name takes the focus away from Ms. Weber personally. In her own words, "The firm is no longer about me, but rather my outstanding and talented team."
Also among her team is Mary Boylan, who joined the company as Director of Sales and Supervising Producer. Boylan's experience includes writing, producing and supervising the production of more than 110 hours of documentary programming for cable networks, including The Weather Channel, the National Geographic Channel, Biography, A&E, History, and Discovery.
The Michael Group is a female owned and operated full-service multimedia company based in Chicago, IL. Although is the company's main focus, it provides content creation and PR solutions to clients worldwide.
The Michael Group has worked on successful campaigns for Coupon Cabin, Craftsman, Kraft Foods, Starbucks, Burger King, Apartments.com and Quaker.
