Hotel investments in Middle East and East Asia rank highest - 760 upcoming hotel projects in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

(firmenpresse) - (Munich, Germany - 07 October 2011) Worldwide focus on the hotel industry: With over 4,300 new hotel projects under construction it's more than expansion, it's a revolution. Despite the financial crunch the international hotel investment is on the rise for some years . According to the leading hotel data provider www.tophotelprojects.com, most of the projected hotels are in the course of construction or planning in the Middle East & East Asia (1,825) and Europe (1,803). In the Americas nearly 810 new upscale hotels are under construction.

Christian Berke, Sales Manager at www.tophotelprojects.com, said during the world's leading real estate trade fair Expo Real in Munich: "In Germany, Austria and Switzerland alone we currently track approximately 760 hotel construction projects. This marks a new hotel development peak since three years". In Germany 358 new hotel openings are in the pipline. Primarily in the mid-classed comfort, upscale first class or luxury segment. Lower classified properties - economy or low budget hotels - constitute a minor part .

Landmark Hilton hotel projects at The Squaire Airport Frankfurt
Hilton Worldwide strengthens its expansion in Western Europe. More than 100 new hotels will be added during the next two years. The Landmark projects comprise two hotels at the iconic The Squaire centre at Frankfurt International Airport in Germany: Hilton Frankfurt Airport, 249 rooms, luxury class, opening in December 2011; Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport, 334 rooms, first class, opening in December 2011. The interior design is managed by JOI-Design, Hamburg/Germany.

Chinese hotel market with more than 400 hotel projects
China"s hotel business is moving ahead even faster. With more than 400 top hotel hotel projects (over 119,000 rooms) under construction, the total investment hits the top mark of about 20 bn Euros. Most of which are built in Macao, such as: Sheraton at Cotai Strip (4,000 rooms), Holiday Inn (1,224 rooms) and St. Regis (889 rooms).
