Leo Motors Exhibits E-Box at 2011 International Green Car Exhibition

(PINKSHEETS: LEOM) exhibited E-Box, their energy storage system, at the 2011 International Green Car Exhibition in the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Korea, September 28-30, 2011. Leo exhibited their E-Box at the Yeonggwang City Pavilion. Leo is going to construct a new manufacturing plant in Yeonggwang City at an industrial park that specializes in Electric Vehicles.
Leo's E-Box had attracted many potential buyers at the exhibition because recent natural and industrial disasters evoked more need for equipment for storing energy while electricity supply is disconnected. Earlier this year, there was a nuclear power plant failure at Fukushima, and in August, 2011, Seoul suffered from a sudden electrical blackout caused by excessive electricity demand.
In the exhibition, potential buyers found Leo's E-box a power storage solution for solar or wind generators. The Jeolla Namdo Province where Yeonggwang City is located has 1969 islands. Most of the islands use engine generators to get electricity independently. Some of these islands situated near the mainland get electric lines laid underneath the sea, but the costs of such line construction is prohibitive, thus laying cables is not cost efficient. If they use solar or wind generators together with Leo's E-Box, they can cut corners significantly while securing a constant flow of clean energy.
There are more than 20,000 households in Korea which use small solar or wind generators with capacities below 3kW/h. They are all connected with electric power supplying cables provided by Korea Electric Power Company (KEPCO). They are stopped when the electric supply is discontinued under disastrous or unexpected situations, because KEPCO prohibits these generators from running independently, for safety purposes. If these households want to run generators independently, they need separate power storage. Current prices of power storage for these generators are extremely expensive, and are not sustainable. Visitors of this exhibition saw Leo's E-Box as a good solution for these small generators because it is cost effective, sustainable, and safe to use.
