Z ALIGN is a function of CALLISTO eye and a part of theZEISS Toric Solution. This combined solution enables fast andreliable implantation of toric IOLs in patients with astigmatism andoffers a higher level of safety due to integrated workflow.Dr. Wolff, Heppenheim Eye Clinic: "Thanks to Z ALIGN in future I willbe able to supply toric IOLs to my patients with a high degree ofaccuracy, efficiency and safety. It will enable my team and myself tofollow an optimum treatment sequence in everyday practice."Z ALIGN is an innovation for the simple video-supported alignment oftoric IOLs. Simple touch screen operation enables the surgeon to markthe necessary axes and accurately align the IOLs intraoperatively byvideo overlay. This is where Z ALIGN clearly differs fromconventional methods and creates optimum conditions for a goodrefractive result. In addition, videos of the intraoperativeprocedure are automatically recorded for export.Z ALIGN can be used in conjunction with almost any video camera usedin the operating theatre. Furthermore, the system can easily beexpanded to an OP planning system.ZEISS Toric SolutionThis combined solution enables fast and reliable implantation oftoric IOLs in patients with astigmatism and offers greater safety dueto integrated workflow. Starting with preoperative biometry, theIOLMaster as a gold standard assures high-precision results withcompletely contactless measurement. Subsequent to the biometricmeasurements, ZEISS toric IOLs can be calculated quite simply withthe new Z CALC online calculator. The calculated, case-relatedresults can be adjusted to the values for sphere and cylinder foroutstanding refractive results. During the operation surgicalmicroscopes (e.g. OPMI Lumera family) support the implantation oftoric IOLs such as AT LISA toric by displaying the most minutedetails and a brilliant Red Reflex. This intraocular lens is the onlyMICS IOL that can simultaneously correct sphere, cylinder andpresbyopia. Finally, the innovative, video-supported Z ALIGN tool, afunction of CALLISTO Eye, supports the surgeon in ensuring exactpositioning of the toric IOL with an integral eye tracking system.Further innovative solutions by Carl Zeiss which were recentlyunveiled at the two major ophthalmological congresses ESCRS and AAO:* ZEISS Ophthalmic Data Management Solution - a fully integratedplatform for data management which stores all diagnostic data, thusguaranteeing a paperless workflow in diagnosis and surgery.* ZEISS Refractive Laser Solution - the most comprehensiveapplication spectrum with integral data flow and patient treatment. The new devices for diagnosis and surgery are geared to improvingproductivity, workflow and clinical results - three critical factorsin today's health care services.Press contacts:Eva SesselmannCorporate CommunicationsCarl Zeiss Meditec AGGöschwitzer Straÿe 51-52D-07745 JenaPhone: +49 3641 220-331Fax: +49 3641 220-112E-mail: press(at)meditec.zeiss.comPatrick KoflerInvestor RelationsCarl Zeiss Meditec AGGöschwitzer Straÿe 51-52D-07745 JenaPhone: +49 3641 220-106Fax: +49 3641 220-117E-mail: investors(at)meditec.zeiss.comInternet: www.meditec.zeiss.deBrief profileCarl Zeiss Meditec AG (ISIN: DE 0005313704) is one of the world'sleading medical technology companies.
