S4M lecture at BCA2008 International Conference

At BroadcastAsia2008 (BCA), held from 17-20 June in Singapore, German systems and consulting company S4M – Solutions for Media not only presents its software solutions for broadcasters. Michael Henkel, S4M’s Business Relations Manager Asia, offers a lecture on future requirements for ‘New TV’ initiatives.
The BroadcastAsia2008 International Conference complements BCA as its flagship conference. On June 17, 3 p.m., S4M’s Michael Henkel will give a lecture entitled ‘Convergence of Broadcast Management Systems and ERP – A must for successful diversification?’. “We will look at the business needs that drive the ‘New TV’ initiatives at broadcasters all over the world”, says Henkel. In his contribution to the conference, he will derive the business and process requirements for the near- and long-term future. Based thereupon, Henkel will assemble a wish list for functionality of future Broadcast Management Systems and the benefits that can be produced by them should they become reality. Exemplary business drivers are: Support for Advertisement Sales cross platforms (Classical TV, Web, Community Streaming, VOD); Management of Rights for all the different Play-out Channels; effectiveness, transparency and flexibility of the business management for integrated media companies.
Finally Henkel will discuss the pros and cons of multiple systems versus one system or why there is a shift away from a best-of-breed-approach. Further he will show the benefits of tight integration of a system or systems into an ERP solution and how this impacts on the workflow and operational costs of a broadcaster.
On June 18, Michael Henkel will also be on the panel discussing ‘Top Tips for successful System integration and operation.’
