In the US, Commitment.us.com Has Made 1 & 2-Year Commitment Agreements a Reality

(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 10/14/11 -- Mexico City lawmakers want to help newlyweds avoid the hassle of divorce by giving them an exit strategy: temporary marriage licenses. After the two year period is up, if the couples don't renew, the contract simply ends.

With the divorce rate continuing to grow at an alarming rate,"temporary marriages and commitments have been the topic of discussion for years," says Dan Trinidad- CEO /

"We've been talking about an alternative to marriage since 2006. Technology has had such a huge impact on our lives, and traditional marriages just hasn't evolved with time or the new challenges that couples face on a day to day basis."

Since the introduction of social networking websites, couples are faced with a whole new element of trust and infidelity as the ability to reconnect with significant others from the past has never been easier or more tempting. Add this to the long list of relationship challenges and it's no wonder why Generation X has commitment issues.

"I'm excited to see Mexico City embracing our vision to some extent," says Moe Guiragossian- CFO /

"However, an end date may not be the way to go about it, rather we endorse a . Instead of giving couples an out, we see it as an opportunity for couples to renew their vows and commitment to one another."

After years of discussion, interviews and surveying couples, CommitmentUs, Inc. incorporated in August of 2010, and launched Commitment.us.com (A Hub for Couples to Build & Maintain Relationships), in February of 2011.

An alternate domain name for Mexico City has been created (Commitment.com.mx, Comprometidos.mx), and the website will be completely translated into Spanish in the coming weeks, in support of the bill.

Commitment.us.com has reached out to the officials who sponsored the bill and encourage all who support the bill to register and begin their 1-2 year commitment online.

A full suite of relationship builders, including: , Commitment Certificates (couples enter their vows directly onto their certificate), Commitment Agreements (templates for couples to choose how they would share in assets, or other child considerations) are also available on Commitment.us.com.
