Nera Networks to build Promonte's transmission network for future
technologies
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Nera Networks has signed a contract with the Telenor Groupsubsidiary, PromonteGSM, to upgrade its complete wireless Backboneand Access transmission network in Montenegro. This will be the firstAll IP and future proof ready network implemented by a Telenorcompany."We are proud to be selected by Promonte for this technologicallyadvanced project," says Per Arne Henæs CEO Nera Networks. "Althoughthis is a limited project for us in monetary terms, it confirms thatNera is a frontrunner in providing next generation solutions formobile networks."Under the contract, Nera Networks will replace existing microwaveradios with Evolution Series(TM) LONG HAUL, XPAND and EDGE microwaveradios in a turnkey solution, where Nera also is responsible forimplementation and project management."I am happy that Nera Networks is now part of our larger project ofbuilding a new advanced network for the future," says ChristopherLaska, CEO Promonte.Deliveries will take place in Q4 of 2009, while the complete projectis expected to be completed in the first half of 2010.This announcement was originally distributed by Hugin.
