Suparna Appoints New Director

("Suparna" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: SUG) is pleased to announce that, subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange, Riaz Sumar has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Sumar is a Certified General Accountant and a director of Sumar Management Consultants Ltd., a management consulting firm advising mining, oil and gas, technology, and real estate development companies. The Board of Directors of Suparna is now comprised of Michelle Gahagan, Craig Dalziel, James Newall, Garry Clark and Riaz Sumar.
The Company also announces that at its annual and special meeting held on October 7, 2011, the shareholders passed a special resolution approving an increase to the authorized capital of the Company from 100,000,000 common shares without par to an unlimited number of common shares without par value.
