Government of Canada Announces Appointment of New Governor to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/19/11 -- The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, today announced the appointment of Ms. Shelly Dauphinee as Governor representing New Brunswick for the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, for a four-year term effective immediately.
"I am pleased that Ms. Dauphinee has accepted this position," said Minister Raitt. "As a results-oriented leader, her management experience in health and safety programs spanning over 15 years will be an asset to the Centre."
Ms. Dauphinee is currently Vice-president of WorkSafe Services at WorkSafeNB. During her career, she has held numerous executive positions, including Director of Planning and Policy at WorkSafeNB, Atlantic Director of Policy at the Canadian Red Cross, and Health Policy Analyst at the Nipissing-Timiskaming District Health Council. In addition, Ms. Dauphinee often acts as a speaker at various health and safety conferences.
Ms. Dauphinee holds a Masters of Planning from Queen's University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick and is currently pursuing a Masters of Health Administration at St. Joseph's College of Maine.
The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, located in Hamilton, Ontario, was created in 1978 to promote the fundamental right of Canadians to a healthy and safe working environment. Governed by a tripartite council representing the federal, provincial and territorial governments, as well as employers and workers, the Centre provides Canadians with unbiased and relevant information that supports responsible decision making on health and safety issues in the workplace.
