Thereorganisation concerns Alma Media's three newspaper printing unitsin Tampere, Pori and Rovaniemi, as well as the early-morning deliverycompany Aamujakelu Oy operating in the Pirkanmaa province, theKemi-Tornio region and the Pori region. The new business unit isexpected to start operating on January 1, 2010.Ms Helvi Liukkaala, now Director of Aamulehti's printing house,Managing Director of Aamujakelu Oy as well as the head of thePrinting and Distribution chains at Alma Media, has been appointedhead of the new service unit.- The central objective of the change is to ensure cost-efficienciesin the printing and distribution of Alma Media and its printedproducts by producing or buying, as well as selling servicesourselves. We will also be able to improve productivity and createnew opportunities for cooperation in printing and distribution in themedia business, says Ms Liukkaala.At present, Alma Media's printing houses operate under the publishingcompanies Kustannus Oy Aamulehti, Satakunnan Kirjateollisuus Oy andPohjois-Suomen Media Oy. Alma Media's early-morning delivery companyAamujakelu Oy is part of Kustannus Oy Aamulehti. The legal,operational and reporting structure of the new organisation will bebuilt and decided during this autumn.
