Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, October 24, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased 2,428,862
Ahold common shares in the period from October 17, 2011 up to and including
October 21, 2011. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 9.2847
per share for a total consideration of ? 22.55 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced on March
3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 58,770,316
common shares for a total consideration of ? 523.61 million.
