Harvard School of Public Health Selects New Program Director for Health IT Leadership Program

(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/24/11 -- Harvard School of Public Health today announced the selection of a new program director for its program. Tejal Gandhi, MD, MPH will join John Glaser, PhD, John Halamka, MD, and Blackford Middleton, MD, MPH, MSc in designing and directing the program which brings together health care executives to advance design, development, and deployment for more effective and efficient health care delivery.
Dr. Gandhi, whose research focuses on patient safety and reducing medical errors using information systems, is the Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Partners HealthCare and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. In her role at Partners, she is helping to lead efforts to standardize and implement patient safety best practices across the system. Dr. Gandhi will direct sessions on quality and safety gains from electronic health records, the third of four modules.
Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care is a four module and executives with information technology responsibilities. The four modules are:

These four modules provide health care leaders with strategies and tactics to develop and improve their organization's health IT strategy through case studies, panel discussions, group works, and lectures. Rajesh Dixit, MBA, Chief Technology Officer of Datazoom Solutions Inc. and 2011 participant, described the program as providing "a 360 degree view of strategy, best practices, implementation, and technology."
