Veidekke (Hoffmann) to build homes for the elderly in Jylland
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Veidekke's subsidiary Hoffmann A/S has been awarded a contract fromRanders municipality for the construction of 49 homes for theelderly, a health care centre and a parking facility in the ThorsBakke district in Randers. The value of the contract is DKK 155million.When the project is completed, it will consist of 49 homes for theelderly with 24-hour staffing, a 6,000 square metre health centre anda subterranean parking facility with room for 201 cars. The majorchallenge for the contractor and architect has been to adapt the newbuilding to its environment, which consists of structures dating backto the Middle Ages. Hoffmann has cooperated with architect Kjær &Richter A/S and advisory architect and engineering company d.a.i. onthe development of the project.Construction will commence in March 2010, and the time ahead will beused for further planning of the project.
