Eventbrite Opens a London Office, Increasing Focus on International Growth

(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/26/11 -- has opened the doors of its London office, highlighting the company's increasing focus on internationalizing and localizing its ticketing platform. Founded in 2006 by Kevin and Julia Hartz (CEO and President, respectively) and CTO Renaud Visage, the company has disrupted the ticketing industry with its technologically-driven approach and its focus on innovation.
By studying the sharing habits of ticket buyers across multiple social media channels, Eventbrite has become an authority on -- positioning the company as a thought-leader across multiple industries. At the forefront of mobile development, Eventbrite offers customers , a free entry management application for iPhone. And championing a corporate value of philanthropy and social responsibility, Eventbrite has developed a program targeted towards nonprofit organizations that use events to raise awareness and funding, called .
Eventbrite has already begun to offer a UK-localized version of their site at . This will soon be followed by localized versions for Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Customers in these geographically disparate markets will be serviced by a 24-hour support team working 5 days a week, with supplemental support on the weekends. And in order to expand more broadly, the company will soon offer the full platform in French, Canadian French, and Spanish.
In 2010, Eventbrite customers organized events in 147 countries, before any localization work had begun. This underscores how effectively Eventbrite's platform serves a widely-held need for easy-to-use event organization, promotion and entry management tools. When looking at London-based customer activity from January through August, Eventbrite has seen:
99% year over year growth in the number of tickets processed through the platform
85% year over year growth in the number of events posted on the platform
"We have always learned from observing our customers. Their feature requests help inform our product roadmap. Their sharing behaviors influenced us to become early partners with Facebook. And now, in watching the activity across our platform throughout the UK, it is clear that it's time for Eventbrite to focus on serving customers beyond the United States," explains Kevin Hartz. "It's a vast market for us."
On the company's board of Directors sit Sean Moriarty, former President and CEO of Ticketmaster, and Barry McCarthy, former CFO of Netflix; and on the company's Board of Advisors sit Ashley Capps, the Founder of AC Entertainment and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and Jawed Karim, a Co-Founder of YouTube.
