(firmenpresse) - PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 10/26/11 -- A few weeks ago, the publisher of Men's Health, Rodale, Inc., filed a lawsuit against the AZUrbanathlon for trademark infringement on the word, "Urbanathlon." Rodale requested that the organizers of AZUrbanathlon change the name immediately. Within one week, AZUrbanathlon complied with their demands by changing the name to AZ Urban Race. It worked tirelessly to change everything with the AZUrbanathlon name -- all billboards, t-shirts, race materials and even television commercials. After completing all of these changes, Rodale, Inc. filed another lawsuit and restraining order to stop the race.

"From the very beginning proceeds from this race were intended to benefit Make-A-Wish of Arizona. Now there is a possibility that this charity will receive no money. In addition, 3,000 participants, including 500 underprivileged kids being bused in by sponsor Phoenix Children's Hospital, have already signed up for the AZ Urban Race on November 5. Now they might not be able to compete," said Mario Arce, Race Director of AZ Urban Race.

Other sponsors include Mountainside Fitness, Arizona Diamondbacks and local NBC affiliate Channel 12, The Arizona Republic and .

"Please let Men's Health know how they are negatively impacting the Phoenix community. Visit their Facebook page at and tell them not to stop the race," added Arce.
