Ruukki to deliver components for largest bridge projects in Russia
and Poland
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Press release 9 November 2009Ruukki has signed contracts to deliver components for bridge projectsin Vladivostok, Russia and Warsaw, Poland. The orders are worth atotal of around EUR 3 million. The projects in question are thelargest bridge projects currently under way in Russia and Poland. Thecomponents will be made at Ruukki's Toijala plant in Finland.The Golden Horn bridge will be almost 1.4 kilometres long and isbeing built to link two districts in Vladivostok, which is preparingto host to host the 2012 APEC summit. The northern bridge underconstruction in Warsaw will be 800 metres long and span the riverVistula. The bridge will be completed in 2011.Ruukki is to provide the stiffening sections used in manufacturingthe bridge structures. "In both projects, Ruukki and the bridgedesigners have worked together to optimise the structural solutionchosen to ensure the best-value solutions.
