High-Tech Foam Beds Sleep Cool, Relieve Pressure and Reduce Back Pain

The new line answers higher consumer demand for high-tech specialty foam beds that have significant sleep advantages.
"Our gel foam provides a much cooler night of sleep compared to other memory foam beds," said George Holder, COO of Verlo Mattress Factory Stores. "Gel foam beds are popular for a good reason -- customers say they sleep better than any other type of mattress on the market today."
Verlo's Cool Contour Gel line combines new materials with Verlo's signature approach to custom fitting each person and crafting the mattress locally to fit individual sleep needs.
Gel beds are a significant advancement in the mattress industry, and Verlo distinguishes itself by placing the gel layer at the surface, unlike other companies who build the gel line lower in the mattress core. The surface placement takes greater advantage of gel foam, which increases air circulation, whisks heat away from the body and is 12 times more breathable than memory foam.
"With the gel layer at the top, customers sleep cool and comfortably," Holder said. "This layer -- open cell foam infused with gel -- also minimizes the effects of restless sleeping partners."
Verlo Mattress Factory Stores of Greenfield, WI, is selling at least one Cool Contour Gel bed every other day, said Darren Brylow, the store manager.
"People are surprised at how quickly the material cradles their body," Brylow said. "We had one customer stop in the store after buying a gel bed to thank us and said the bed changed his life."
The new mattress line contains three options: Barrow, the firmest; Sitka, the plush option; and Kodiak, the top-of-the-line with an additional layer of foam in the mattress core.
