The Russell Global Indexes: Region and Sector Performance for The Russell Global Index, October 2011
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/02/11 -- The Russell Global Index reflected a return of (+10.9%) for the month of October, with eight constituents posting strong positive returns for the month. The Russell Latin America Index led the group with a (+16.9%) return, followed closely by the Russell Asia Pacific ex-Japan Index (+13.1%) and the Russell Emerging Markets Index (+12.6%).
All nine global sectors in the Russell Global Index posted positive returns for October 2011, with Energy (+17.2%) reflecting the greatest return, followed by Materials & Processing (+13.7%), Producer Durables (+12.2%) and Financial Services (+11.9%). The Utilities and Health Care sectors of the Russell Global Index posted the lowest returns among sectors for the month of October, reflecting returns of (+5.3%) each.
The Russell Global Index includes more than 10,000 securities in 48 countries and covers 98% of the investable global market. All securities in the index are classified according to size, region, country and sector. Daily Returns for the main components are available here:
