HPEV Begins Manufacture of Innovative Transfer Case
(firmenpresse) - LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 11/03/11 -- HPEV, Inc. (OTCQB: BIBB) (PINKSHEETS: BIBB) has completed development of an innovative transfer case. The design will transfer power from an electric motor equipped with HPEV composite heat pipes into the drivetrain of the company's hybrid commercialization platform: a one ton Ford F-350 dually truck. The platform is expected to deliver 30 to 40 mpg on a full charge, even while carrying a full load.
"We designed it to be vehicle agnostic," noted Mark Hodowanec, co-founder of HPEV. "Any truck, any size, you just bolt it on. It will simplify the conversion process for our licensees."
GEAR TECH HD, a leader in the field, was chosen to build the initial transfer case. "It's a first," said Wayne Wilcox, owner of Gear Tech. "40 years in the business and I've never built a gear box like this."
Machining begins this week. The initial hybrid conversion is expected in the first quarter of 2012.
