Shawn McCloud Joins Calypto as VP of Marketing to Support Company Focus on High-Level Synthesis and ESL Hardware Design

Before joining Calypto, Shawn was the Product Line Director for Catapult® C, the High-Level Synthesis (HLS) product from Mentor Graphics.

Shawn is clearly an expert in high-level synthesis because of his experience in managing the Catapult product line, which under his leadership grew to nearly a 50% market share position," said Doug Aitelli, Chief Executive Officer at Calypto.
In August, from Mentor Graphics would become part of Calypto creating the first company that has HLS, formal equivalence checking and automatic power optimization under one umbrella. The combination of these technologies positions Calypto to be the first company capable of delivering a robust ESL hardware implementation flow to the mainstream ASIC designer.

Prior to his position and 18 years at Mentor, Shawn worked for Motorola for 8 years. He has a B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1986.
