Veidekke to build school and swimming facility in Bergen
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Hordaland Municipal County and Bergen Kommunale Bygg have awardedVeidekke Entreprenør AS the contract to build the Amalie Skram uppersecondary school and a new facility for swimming and diving. Thevalue of the contract is more than NOK 300 million excluding VAT.The Amalie Skram upper secondary school will accommodate 900 studentsand 125 employees. The school building will include a canteen, sportshall, auditorium, school library and administration offices. Theswimming facility will satisfy international championshiprequirements and will consist of four pools and a diving facility,50-metre pool and a therapy pool. The whole project will have an areaof 28,000 square metres, with 16,000 square metres for the school andapprox. 12,000 square metres for the swimming facility. The schooland swimming facility will be built at Nygårdstangen in the centre ofBergen.Veidekke will carry out all concrete work including walls andsurfaces, steel work with columns, beams and frames, roofconstructions with covering and interior and exterior walls.
