Tricorona and COMP-ANY GmbH cooperate to reduce emissions of
greenhouse gases from biological waste
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Tricorona and COMP-ANY GmbH have signed a cooperation agreementregarding exports of COMP-ANY's waste management technology forreducing emissions of greenhouse gases in developing countries. Thepartnership combines Tricorona's expertise in CDM (Clean DevelopmentMechanism) and COMP-ANY's technology, services and know-how inefficient biological waste treatment.COMP-ANY's technology permits controlled biological treatmentincluding composting, drying and biological stabilization. Thecomposted biomass can be used as a nutrition rich fertilizer inagriculture and the stabilized organic fraction can be depositedsafely without generation of greenhouse gases. The method is wellsuited to palm oil mills where the organic content of waste waterfrom treatment processes otherwise decomposes and gives rise to largequantities of methane gas."Our partnership is yet another step in COMP-ANY'sinternationalization strategy. With its extensive network and goodknowledge of emission reducing projects in a number of developingcountries, Tricorona is a good partner for COMP-ANY when it comes toboth finding customers and securing financing. Through the CDM systemwe expect to obtain additional financing annually for our projects, and support Tricorona in developing their project portfolio." says DrWilhelm von Trott zu Solz, Managing Director of COMP-ANY GmbH.In this partnership, Tricorona's role is to purchase emissionreductions and develop these projects to be a part of the CDM system.CDM stands for Clean Development Mechanism and is included in theKyoto Protocol. This mechanism gives industrialized countries aneffective means to complement efforts to reduce emissions on anational level by investing into emission reduction projects indeveloping countries."By means of additional financing via the Kyoto Protocol's CDMsystem, we can help COMP-ANY to reach new customers all over theworld, where Asia will be the first market to look at. With the extravalue from emission reductions, this type of environmental technologywill also become available to companies in developing countries, where a great potential exists to reduce emissions of greenhousegases from biological waste," says Marco Berggren, head of TechnologyTransfer at Tricorona. For further information please contact:Marco Berggren, Head of Tech Transfer, Tricorona, telephone +46 (0)8506 885 80Dr. Wilhelm von Trott zu Solz, MD of COMP-ANY GmbH, Grünbach, Germanytelephone +49 (0)8122 955 99 44http://hugin.info/137853/R/1356070/329418.pdfThis announcement was originally distributed by Hugin.
