KONE wins order for medical facility expansion in Rotterdam
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - KONE, Press release, November 19, 2009KONE won an order to supply new elevators and escalators for theErasmus Medical Centre expansion in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. KONEwill provide 43 elevators and 2 escalators for the medical facility'sexpansion. The new medical complex will include a 120-meter towerincluding elevators with KONE's innovative Destination ControlSystem. A one-year maintenance deal for all the equipment was alsoagreed in the order.Two of the elevators in the tower will also feature KONE JumpLiftelevators, which boost the buildings' vertical transportationcapacity during construction time by growing with the building. Thecontractor for the project is BC Nieuwbouw Erasmus MC, a combinationof BAM Utiliteitsbouw bv and Ballast Nedam Speciale Projecten. Thearchitect firm for the project is EGM Architects.
