Valley Fever is caused by inhaling fungal spores in area soil or dust. Valley Fever is diagnosed much less frequently in cats than in dogs, although because cats tend to hide their illnesses, they usually get much sicker from the disease. Dogs raised from birth in Pima or Maricopa counties have a 28% chance of being infected with Valley Fever by two years of age.
Considered amongst the nation's leading specialty veterinary centers, VSCT delivers compassionate, comprehensive emergency and specialty care in the fields of Emergency and Critical Care, Dentistry, Dermatology, Oncology, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Diagnostic Imaging (MRI, CT, Ultrasound), Companion Animal Rehabilitation Therapy and Behavior.
