Great News for Viewers: Bell to Distribute All TVA Group Speciality Channels
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 11/22/11 -- TVA Group (TSX: TVA.B) is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Bell for the distribution of four of its specialty channels - TVA Sports, Sun News, Yoopa and Mlle. The four TVA Group speciality channels will be offered to Bell subscribers by December 15, 2011.
"With this new agreement, all TVA Group channels - including TVA Sports and Sun News - will be available to Bell customers," says TVA Group President and CEO Pierre Dion. "There's no doubt that this important announcement makes viewers the big winners. From our perspective, the agreement represents a major stepping stone for our speciality channels, as well as a powerful incentive to continue offering evermore innovative and original television to our viewers."
Sports fans will get their fill through the constantly expanding TVA Sports offering. In fact, the channel has already signed agreements with several prestige properties, including the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the Interbox Group, GYM, the Montreal Impact, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Canadian Hockey League, the Champions League, and the Red Bull Crashed Ice, to name just a few. TVA Sports also offers audience favourites like Le Match, L'Esprit d'equipe and our sports newscasts. TVA Sports will be available on channels 193 (SD) and 1883 (HD) on Bell Satellite TV and on channels 193 (SD) and 1193 (HD) on Bell Fibe TV, with a free preview period until December 31, 2011.
Sun News will be included in the basic package and distributed to 100% of Bell subscribers outside Quebec. "We are very pleased that Bell TV subscribers across the country will once again be able to enjoy Canada's new home for Hard News and Straight Talk," said Luc Lavoie, Head of Development for Sun News. "With shows like The Source with Ezra Levant and Byline with Brian Lilley, it's a prime time line-up that we're confident will be a welcome addition to many living rooms." Sun News will be available on channel 506 (SD) on Bell Satellite TV and on channels 531 (SD) and 1531 (HD) on Bell Fibe TV.
Yoopa will be available on channel 188 (SD) on Bell Satellite TV and on channels 150 (SD) and 1150 (HD) on Bell Fibe TV. Mlle will be available on channel 194 (SD) on Bell Satellite TV and on channels 194 (SD) and 1194 (HD) on Bell Fibe TV. Free previews of Yoopa and Mlle will be offered for three months.
