deliveries for bridge projects in Tampe

Ruukkihas already signed contracts regarding deliveries for more than tenbridges and success on this front continues with the signing of twonew contracts. Ruukki has signed an agreement concerning the steelstructure contract and delivery of the foundation piles for theSärkijärvi bridge in Tampere, Finland. Ruukki will also deliveralmost 6 kilometres of large diameter steel pipe piles fitted withrock shoes for the foundations of more than 20 bridges in the highway5 improvement project in Kuopio, Finland. In addition, Ruukki willdeliver a total of 15 kilometres of scaffolding piles for theprojects in Tampere and Kuopio. The orders are worth a total ofaround EUR 4 million."The high degree of prefabrication of the structures in the steelbridge solution and delivery accuracy of cut-to-size piles willreduce welding work at the site. This in turn will shortenconstruction time and thus speed up completion of the entireproject," says managing director Sami Rantala from the engineeringoffice of Insinööritoimisto Seppo Rantala Oy, which is Ruukki'scustomer in both projects. The steel structures will be made atRuukki's plant in Ylivieska, the steel pipe piles in Oulainen and thescaffolding piles in Pulkkila, Finland.The customer also benefits from cost savings in these demandingbridge projects by sourcing the entire manufacturing chain - from rawmaterials and fabrication to installation - from one partner.Ruukki has a strong presence in transport infrastructure constructionin the Nordic countries.
