Aberdeen

Bristol
According to government statistics, over 50% of people living in Bristol can be classed as 'wealthy achievers.(1)' This figure is perhaps bolstered by the likes of AXA and other powerful financial institutions that reside here, leading to a healthy amount of business and . Similarly, Bristol also boasts a low Neet rate and also experienced the highest growth in private sector jobs between 1998 and 2008(2).
Leeds
Leeds has remained relatively well insulated against the economic crisis and it is believed it will benefit highly from the increase in demand for UK-made products from overseas companies. Leeds is one of the country's largest production centres (second only to London), but it doesn't need to rely on this sector, with finance and business markets also remaining stable.
Reading
Last year, Reading was labelled as one of the cities expected to experience considerable growth and emerge from the economic downturn relatively unharmed. It seems this prediction was correct, with an employment rate 5.8% above the national average(3). As the city relies less on public sector jobs, Reading could help to make a large contribution to the country's recovery.
