Intrepid Mines: New Director-Indonesian National Adrianto Machribie
(firmenpresse) - BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/30/11 -- The Board and management of Intrepid Mines Limited (TSX: IAU)(ASX: IAU) (the "Company") are delighted to advise of the appointment of Mr Adrianto Machribie Reksohadiprodjo to the board as a non-executive director, effective 30 November 2011.
The Board is significantly strengthened by the appointment of Mr Machribie, an enthusiast and visionary for the continued growth of the Indonesian mining sector. Intrepid will benefit from his considerable government and operating network built over many years working within the Indonesian mining industry. Mr Machribie is an advisor to the Board of the Indonesian Mining Association.
Over a period of nineteen years, Mr Machribie held various positions with the Freeport Group, serving as President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia for eleven years until 2006 and subsequently as Commissioner of that company until his retirement earlier this year. He remains a personal advisor to the Freeport chairman.
Mr Machribie is currently the President Director of Metro TV, a 24 hour Indonesian news channel and President Commissioner of investment company PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya, an agriculture, healthcare and financial services organisation with core values of integrity, respect for people and for the environment and continuous improvement. Prior positions held by him include senior management roles with Shell Indonesia and Unilever in the Netherlands.
