Wreaths Across America Seeks Additional Donations and Volunteers for Massive Wreath-Laying Ceremony on December 10th

(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 12/01/11 -- Wreaths Across America (WAA), a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, is working hard this holiday season to fulfill its goal to honor every veteran buried at Arlington -- 220,000 in total -- with a memorial wreath. The organization continues to seek donations and volunteers and encourages individuals to visit the WAA page and to learn more. The National Remembrance Ceremony will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The wreaths' journey to Arlington has become a tradition in itself, allowing locals along the more than 700-mile route to share in the emotional and educational experience as the WAA convoy of 50 long-haul tractor-trailers passes through their hometowns. The trip to Arlington National Cemetery will begin Sunday, Dec. 4 in Harrington, Maine, and end at Arlington on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Those unable to witness this history-making event in person are invited to visit the WAA website and social media channels to follow the action on the road and to receive live updates, images and schedule information.

WAA volunteers will place a wreath and hold a moment of silence and reflection at each headstone, ensuring that the individuals who served to protect the freedoms of our country are not, and never will be, forgotten.
