Rochester Chiropractor Treats and Advises Patients Suffering From Psoriasis

Dr. Fried also recommends Phototherapy, or light therapy for patients with the most common form of Psoriasis, called Psoriasis vulgaris or "Plaque Psoriasis," which affects nearly 90 percent of sufferers. According to Dr. Fried, UVB ultraviolet light can slow the growth of skin cells. In a person with psoriasis, skin cells multiply up to ten times faster than normal skin cells, so slowing the rate of growth closer to normal can be helpful.
He also urges caution with UVB therapy, however, saying that people who increase their sun exposure should wear a proper sunscreen, and that people who opt for using a tanning salon should talk with him about the correct amount of time and frequency so that they do not over-do the treatment.
Dr. Fried says that although many of his current Psoriasis patients first came to his seeking , or help for , , , and various injuries, they soon learned that chiropractic care could help alleviate their Psoriasis symptoms as well.
