Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, December 12, 2011 - Ahold has repurchased 1,967,586
Ahold common shares in the period from December 5, 2011 up to and including
December 9, 2011. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 9.6343
per share for a total consideration of ? 18.96 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced on March
3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 76,223,536
common shares for a total consideration of ? 686.13 million.
