Agama Adds Sophisticated Confidence Monitoring Capabilities to Analyzer Offering

(Linköping, December 13, 2011) -Agama Technologies, the DTV quality assurance
expert, today announces a boost of the Agama Analyzer product family, a
versatile range of components for real-time service quality monitoring and
assurance in video headends and distribution networks. New built-in core
features for confidence monitoring and visual inspection provide enhanced
capabilities for TV service operators to carry out efficient offline analysis
and troubleshooting throughout their deployments.
Part of Agama's complete solution for true end-to-end quality monitoring and
assurance of digital video distribution, the powerful Agama Analyzer product
range provides real-time continuous QoE and QoS monitoring of the full video
service from inside the headend to the edge device. Agama now adds to the
already comprehensive core feature set in the 4(th) generation Analyzer by
including sophisticated features for confidence monitoring, visual inspection
and triggered recording.

technical issues in the content streams and distribution actually affect the
viewers, which further supports their qualified troubleshooting processes and

operations teams or second and third line back-office support staff, when for
instance performing in-depth impact and root-cause analysis or in dialogue with
equipment vendors."
The extended Analyzer core features include;
* Live Play - for instant visual confirmation and confidence monitoring of
streams through HTTP streaming for playback of the video and audio to an
engineer's PC. The feature works out of the box on any monitored channel at
any time.
* Triggered Recording - for creating automatic "before, during and after"
recordings when fine-grained triggering events, down to individual alarms,
occur on monitored channels. This high-capacity feature is configurable for
all monitored channels simultaneously, and can be used when performing in-
depth offline analysis and further troubleshooting or gathering solid facts
for trouble reports towards active video processing or network equipment
vendors.
* Stream Forwarding - forwarding of monitored transport streams to selected IP
addresses, for instance to a range of set-top boxes in a central headend,
which can form the basis for powerful stationary video confidence monitoring
applications.
This core functionality boost is part ofversion 4.1 of Agama's DTV Monitoring
Solution, which was launched at IBC in September and now is generally available
to the market. An extensive product portfolio constructs the solution for
continuous real-time monitoring and quality assurance of all forms of digital
video delivery from service creation to consumption. It allows IP, Cable,
Broadcast and Over-The-Top TV operators to maintain control and understanding of
the service quality distribution throughout their deployments with rapidly
visible effects on operations bottom-line, such as reduced time-to-fix,
avoidance of needless truck rolls, minimized churn and increased viewer
satisfaction. In addition to extended core features, version 4.1 of the Agama
Analyzer product family also introduces support for EBU R128 loudness monitoring
and analysis, and active confidence monitoring of adaptive bitrate streaming
services.
