Media Advisory: Brigadier-General Lamarre Returns From Afghanistan
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/14/11 -- Media are invited to attend an availability with the Mission Transition Task Force (MTTF) Commander, Brigadier-General Charles Lamarre, upon his return to Canada, on Thursday, December 15, at 1 p.m. BGen Lamarre and his staff are the last Canadian soldiers to leave Kandahar signifying the close out of Operation ATHENA, Canada's longest combat mission in Afghanistan, as Canada transitions towards our training mission in Kabul.
In attendance will be the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, General Walt Natynczyk, Chief of the Defence Staff, and Lieutenant-General Peter Devlin, Commander Canadian Army.
When: Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 1 p.m.
Where: Canada Reception Centre, 190 Convair Private, near the Ottawa International Airport.
What: Media availability with Brig.-Gen. Charles Lamarre, Commander of the Mission Transition Task Force.
