Canada Fluorspar Inc. Announces the Passing of A. Gordon Stollery
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/16/11 -- It is with great sadness that Canada Fluorspar Inc. (TSX VENTURE: CFI) ("CFI" or the "Company") announces the passing of its Director and one of the Company's founders, A. Gordon Stollery. Mr. Stollery passed away on December 12, 2011 at the age of 64 while on vacation in the British Virgin Islands. Mr. Stollery served as a highly valued member on the Company's Board of Directors, making significant contributions during his tenure and will be dearly missed.
"Gordon made a significant impact on CFI and the business community in general. Without him CFI would not be where it is today and his patience and dedication to the project since 1996 is nothing short of remarkable. The recently announced partnership with Arkema Inc. was a significant step forward in fulfilling his vision for the reactivation of the St. Lawrence project. He was an extraordinary man and we will miss him profoundly," said Richard Carl, Executive Chairman of the Company.
Mr. Stollery is survived by his wife Judy Lorenz, seven daughters and three grandsons. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
The vacancy in the Board will be considered by the Company's Board of Directors and an announcement will be made in the event a new Director is appointed.
