Schneider Electric Announces Strategic Technology Acquisition of Viridity EnergyCenter DCIM Software
The Acquisition Will Merge Viridity's Unique IT Discovery and Method of Measuring Server Power Consumption With Schneider Electric's Data Center Software to Deliver Best-in-Class Asset Tracking, Capacity Planning and Energy Visualization for Superior Energy Management
(firmenpresse) - WEST KINGSTON, RI -- (Marketwire) -- 12/20/11 -- Schneider Electric announced today a strategic technology acquisition of the Viridity EnergyCenter 2.0 platform, the flagship product of a well-known start-up specializing in DCIM management software that provides a cross-functional solution for understanding the connection between physical infrastructure, IT equipment and the applications that run on them.
With this investment Schneider Electric will acquire the intellectual property and software behind the Viridity EnergyCenter 2.0 platform -- software that enables auto-discovery of IT assets to optimize capacity utilization at the IT asset level. This investment will augment the StruxureWare™ for Data Center Operations DCIM suite, which is designed to solve the most complex challenges of operating enterprise data centers.
