YouMail Launches Visual Caller ID Application for Android

WhoAreYou Leverages Social Graph to Provide Real-Time Visual Caller ID

The completely free WhoAreYou application brings real-time Visual Caller ID to Android phones, solving the common problem shared by mobile phone users of knowing exactly who is calling.

Visual Caller ID identifies missed callers with a name, city/state information, and a representative image -- such as a Facebook photo or business logo -- even when the calling party is not found in the user's address book. This allows WhoAreYou users to decide whether to answer a call, let it roll to voicemail or immediately block it from ever ringing their phone again.

At launch, WhoAreYou already has meaningful data for over 200 million U.S. phone numbers, with many of these numbers tied to social profiles and/or other identifying information. This allows the WhoAreYou app to display compelling data about these numbers whenever they call a WhoAreYou user.

YouMail's WhoAreYou Application has additional popular functions, including:

Users can run the app as a stand-alone "search replacement" to get more information on any phone number.

Users can "ditch" callers with a single click that automatically sends calls from that number to voicemail without ever ringing the phone. The "ditch" feature works especially well when the user's voicemail is handled by YouMail's Visual Voicemail Plus application, where all ditched callers will be played a "This number is out of service" message, making it extremely convenient to get taken off of call lists.
