MatzoBall(R) Celebrates 25 Years in the 'Business of Love' With Its Annual Christmas Eve Event
The Nation's First and Largest Jewish-Singles Mixer Finds Continued Success in Traditional Dating Approach With Events in Boston, Miami, New York City, Chicago, Washington, DC, Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton

Helping bridge this relationship status are a series of businesses dedicated to online dating, matchmaking and speed dating. A veteran in this same "finding-love" department is Andrew Rudnick and his ®, an event that takes the traditionalist approach to meeting singles over a cocktail, music and great atmosphere. Celebrating 25 years of uniting people on Christmas Eve, the singles event that rolls out nationwide costs $30 a ticket and is responsible for an estimated 1,000 marriages to date.
The MatzoBall®, which started primarily as a Jewish-singles mixer, has grown over the years to cater to the general masses. The concept was birthed after a stereotypical Christmas Eve with Chinese food-and-a-movie-combo.
"I thought to myself, doing this every year will get old; I wondered how many Jewish people are doing what I'm doing right now," said Rudnick. "Bored and looking for a way to unite locals in a part-reunion, part-date-night atmosphere, I hosted my first MatzoBall® in Boston on Christmas Eve 1985."
The party's popularity grew, with mile-markers including the international growth of the brand in to Canada, city roll-outs peaking in 18 locations and a guest list in some cities tipping the 2,000 mark. The 25th anniversary celebration will bring the brand back to its roots, focusing on the most densely populated cities as reported throughout the span of the MatzoBall's® existence. Additionally, due to the success of the Miami market, Rudnick will launch the inaugural , a sister event to the MatzoBall® geared towards singles 25 and older, at Arkadia.
In collaboration with JDate®, this year's MatzoBall® will be held in New York, NY; Boston, Mass.; Washington, DC; Chicago, Ill.; Miami, Fla.; Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and Boca Raton, Fla. The events begin at 8 and 9 p.m. and tickets are available for $30 at and at the door, cash only.
Rudnick's MatzoBall® is part of the Society of Young Jewish Professionals, a foundation he founded, which creates platforms in which singles can meet.
